Replacing the one of the busiest Fire Stations in St. Petersburg, Fire Station #7 is a new 9,053 sf located at the entry of one of the cities most active parks. Modeled off the prototype station designed by WJA, the new building is designed to accommodate and house three shifts of seven fire fighters and one District Chief. The station includes eight sleeping units, with four private bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area, a dayroom and offices, a continuing education area, fitness center, as well as an apparatus bay with a total of three bays, gear storage, EMT storage, a disinfection area, and a work area. The facility achieved Three Green Globes Certification and includes numerous sustainable design features including roof-top photovoltaic panels, energy efficient mechanical systems and appliances, and low maintenance finishes.
